Pronounced "thoo'-yuh," Thuja occidentalis is derived from the northern white cedar, Arbor vitae, which means "Tree of Life." This is the primary vaccinosis (adverse reaction to a vaccination) remedy for cats and dogs. If you must have your pet vaccinated, it is a good idea to give a dose of Thuja within two hours following the injection. It can also be helpful in case of immediate vaccine reactions such as vomiting or diarrhea occurring within a few hours of the shot. If you miss the immediate window of opportunity, however, don't worry - this homeopathic remedy can be administered at any time following vaccinations.

Thuja can be helpful to resolve ongoing symptoms of vaccinosis, which may result in a wide array of immediate symptoms like fatigue, muscle pain, weakness, fever, etc., following administration of a vaccine, as well as carry long term effects that may appear weeks or months after your pet is vaccinated. Long term effects of over-vaccination include skin eruptions at the vaccine site, skin and respiratory allergic symptoms, respiratory infections, digestive issues, and even arthritis. Thuja is also helpful for symptoms of disorders that affect the skin, including warts, rashes, eruptions, cysts, and tumors. Other major body systems that may be benefited by Thuja are the gastrointestinal system (it is excellent for "sputtery" diarrhea) and the urinary tract (some cases of chronic cystitis may be helped by this remedy).

Dosage Instructions:
For healthy animals: Give 3-6 pellets/3-6 drops by mouth within 2 hours of vaccination, repeat every 12 hours, giving a total of 3 doses.
For chronic conditions and if more than 2 hours have passed after vaccination is adminstered: Give 3-6 pellets/3-6 drops by mouth one time.

In chronic cases where symptoms do not improve in 2 to 4 weeks, please consult your veterinarian.

Using Homeopathic Remedies:

Homeopathic remedies work best when administered directly into the animal's mouth, and are not as effective when given with food or water.
