Why your pet needs Only Natural Pet Herbal Defense Shampoo & Conditioner
Contains 70% organic ingredients, and no parabens, or sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates. You will love how these professional quality, non-toxic products keep your pet's fur clean and shiny, while keeping insect pests away. Cruelty free, naturally.
We’d be proud enough of our Herbal Defense Shampoo and Conditioner just for their natural ingredients and consistent effectiveness in keeping insect pests away from our companions. But this dynamic duo of bath care products also cleans and nourishes pets’ skin and coat, leaving fur as soft and silky as the best top shelf groomers’ products do.
Nature’s bountiful array of insect repelling and skin nourishing herbal extracts are brought together in our Herbal Defense line for impressive results across the board. Our customers agree that these herbal bath products are gentle, and effective for keeping nasty insects off their pets and leaving their pets with fresh smelling, clean, soft fur and healthy skin (please see their comments below this product description).
Only Natural Pet Herbal Defense Shampoo and Conditioner use neem oil, lemongrass, lavender, citronella, and other natural herbal extracts to help keep annoying insect pests at bay. And the skin-supportive aloe, jojoba oil, calendula and chamomile, soothe and protect your pet’s skin – a great benefit for pets suffering from flea or mosquito bites, seasonal allergies, dryness, or other skin irritations. Our shampoo’s rich lather cleans deeply without drying and leaves a fresh, clean scent that insects will avoid. Special ingredients like sunflower seed oil and muru muru butter in our conditioner add extra nourishment and protection to your pet’s skin and coat.
Why Choose Paraben and SLS-Free?
Parabens (preservatives) and Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfates (foaming agents) have long been used in human and pet products without much thought or research being done to test the impact these ingredients might have on the long-term health of people and their pets. Trends over the past few decades, however, are revealing a significant increase in health problems, including autoimmune problems and reproductive impairment in people and animals alike. These trends have prompted some health activists to question the safety of all kinds of ingredients commonly found in personal care products and to lobby for testing to determine what role they may play in the increasing numbers of health issues and environmental problems being recognized today.
Although these common personal care product ingredients are still widely used and generally regarded as safe, many people choose to take the cautious approach and avoid using products with these ingredients while their influence on our and our companions' health is still not fully understood. Our pets, being smaller than us, have smaller organ systems like lungs, liver, and kidneys, which poses a greater challenge for them to eliminate toxins from the body. This is all the more reason to take extra care with our furry companions as we do with our children, and choose products for them that are designed with their utmost safety in mind.
Why Go Natural for Insect Pest Control?
Fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, biting flies and their kind are a nuisance for everyone in the family, but especially for our more vulnerable animal companions. Cats and dogs can’t protect themselves and they rely on us to keep them safe from insect parasites. Pesticide sprays and other products are one quick-fix solution, but for most of us, the risks of using these toxic chemicals on and around our human and animal loved ones are just not worth it.
Toxic chemical pesticides have been known to cause immediate health crises in some dogs and cats, and perhaps worse, these chemicals can circulate and accumulate in our pets' bodies, doing unseen damage to vital organs that may go undetected for years. And then there is the damage these chemical residues can do to our children, ourselves, and the environment.
Fortunately, there is a safe and effective alternative to keep those nasty insects at bay. We are pleased to offer our Only Natural Pet Herbal Defense products, a natural line of insect repellent spray and bath products that are safe for dogs and cats - and their people! They contains no DEET, organophosphates, or other dangerous pesticides, and can even be used with puppies and kittens too young for other flea remedies.
When fighting fleas, especially a severe infestation, it is always more effective to approach the problem from more than one angle. Here are some other strategies that you may want to consider along with Only Natural Pet Herbal Defense Shampoo and Conditioner:
- Only Natural Pet All-in-One Flea Remedy is the one solution to rid your dogs, cats, carpet, furniture, and pet bedding of any annoying insects.
- If your pets go outside, consider using our Only Natural Pet Herbal Defense Spray.
- Many people find our Brewer's Yeast & Garlic tablets to be helpful in making their pets less attractive to fleas.
- The quality of your pet's food is an important determinant in their ability to fight fleas. A poor diet means a weaker immune system, making your pet more attractive to fleas and other parasites. If you are not feeding your pet a high quality, natural food, you might want to consider changing the diet. Any of the brands sold at Only Natural Pet Store for dogs and for cats would qualify as high quality and natural.
In general the difficulty and length of time required to win a battle against a flea infestation depends on the severity of the problem and the environment in which you live.
Our Herbal Defense Shampoo and Conditioner also work well as part of a holistic flea prevention or treatment plan. If you are preparing for flea season or already involved in a battle with fleas, please see our article, The Natural Approach to Flea Control, for helpful tips and suggestions. We've also grouped our natural flea remedies into convenient kits based on the severity of your flea situation to save you time and money in gathering your weapons to win the war on fleas, safely and naturally. Holistic veterinarians often recommend that in general, dogs can be bathed every 1-2 months, and may be bathed weekly when suffering from a bad flea infestation. Cats that tolerate bathing may be bathed once or twice a year, and once a month when infested with fleas.
Place cotton balls inside your pet's ears before bathing, and if fleas are present, always apply shampoo at the neckline to create a barrier against fleas trying to crawl toward your pet's head. Thoroughly wet your pet’s fur to begin. Shampoo starting at pet’s head, using a small amount of shampoo on a wet cloth to swab your pet's face and head, avoiding the eyes. Lather thoroughly around the neck, and continue back over body & legs to tail. Rinse with warm water. Follow up with Only Natural Pet Herbal Defense Conditioner for best results.
Following shampoo, massage a liberal amount deeply into pet’s coat. Leave on for a minute or two to allow ingredients to permeate coat. Rinse with warm water.
For best insect-repellent results, follow up with Only Natural Pet Herbal Defense Spray.
