It may come as a surprise, but your cute kitty is still a carnivore. She must consume meat to survive. That’s why every Stella & Chewy’s Grain-Free Freeze Dried Cat Dinner is made with raw, natural meat, poultry or fish, without added hormones or antibiotics, sourced from USDA-inspected facilities. Chick, Chick Chicken Dinner, for example, contains farm-raised chicken as the first ingredient - plus just the right amount of taurine, which is essential for feline health.

  • Raw, farm-raised, cage-free chicken
  • Raw, wild Alaskan salmon
  • Natural with added vitamins and minerals
  • Healthful direct-fed microbials
  • Freeze dried to lock in nutrition and flavor
  • Minimally processed
  • Made in Wisconsin

Stella & Chewy’s Cat Dinners are made without grain, fillers, artificial preservatives or colorings. Plus, they have no added sugar or salt! And every ingredient is sourced from reputable suppliers.

  • No added hormones or antibiotics
  • No grains or fillers
  • No artificial preservatives or colorings
  • No added sugar or salt
  • No compromise on quality!

Feline Fact

A cat’s body is approximately 60% water. It’s essential for them to stay hydrated, so they need to drink water often. Don’t leave it up to your cat to hydrate itself, as cats generally aren’t big water drinkers. Rehydrate the freeze dried nuggets with warm water before feeding.

Information on Freeze Drying

Freeze-drying is a process that enables us to remove the moisture from our products without cooking. The product is first frozen and then put into a freeze dryer. Inside the freeze dryer, powerful pumps create a vacuum and extremely cold temperatures. Very low levels of heat are applied to the shelves on which the trays of product sit, enabling the ice within the meat to "sublimate" directly into water vapor, skipping the liquid stage. The product changes from frozen to freeze dried without ever being thawed or cooked, thereby retaining all of the nutritional value of raw meat, minus the water. With Stella & Chewy's Freeze dried Dinners and Treats, you get the best of both worlds; the benefits of raw food with the convenience of a dry food.

Comments about Stella & Chewy's Grain-Free Freeze Dried Cat Food:

I was desparate. My new kitty had very bad diarrhea. What a mess.
He couldn't handle any dry food. Didn't like almost all wet foods.
It took about a 2 weeks but it cured the problem. And he liked it.
That surprised me altogether. It is expensive.....but worth it.

Comments about Stella & Chewy's Grain-Free Freeze Dried Cat Food:

finally after 10 years i have found a food that has truly changed my cat's health. my 5 lb calico gained 2 lbs immediately, has firm stools for the first time in years and just seems so much healthier. The freeze dried food is convenient, not the least bit messy or smelly. Yes, it is expensive but worth every penny. I hope they make this forever because i don't intend to ever switch. Try it, i hope it works for you like it did for us.

Comments about Stella & Chewy's Grain-Free Freeze Dried Cat Food:

I have six cats at present. Three males and three females. Before trying Stella & Chewy, I tried Dr. Harvey's, and none of my cats would touch it, and two even made motions with their paws on the kitchen floor to try to bury it! I returned the unopened bags of Dr. Harvey's and was about to give up on freeze dried raw food. Then I tried Stella & Chewy's Duck, and right from the start, without even transitioning from the old wet food, they all licked the plates clean. They licked the plates so clean, that they look unused and washed! That's how much my cats love this food. This is the first top quality food I have found that all my cats absolutely love. I will continue to buy Stella & Chewy products.

Stella and Chewy's had a production problem a while back and it was hard to find. When I finally found it at Only Natural Pet and at a better price, I bought several bags. I mix my Stella and Chewy's with Wellness canned food because I have several cats. They really love it.
Only Natural Pet also is fast, efficient and I love the fact that they pack with compostible peanuts.

Our two Maine Coon cats believe that these are the supreme treat. They beg by showing up in the kitchen whenever we are there, by meowing, and by trying to pull down our pants until we notice them.

My suggestion is to never be without them cuz the cat's can get a little obsessed.

We use them only as treats - We live in the desert and are aware of hydration needs.

Comments about Stella & Chewy's Grain-Free Freeze Dried Cat Food:

I like that it's raw and freeze dried. I think it's a healthier option for cats. The problem is the probiotics. I've noticed that everytime my cat eats it, he gets tired and loses his appetite. I've given him Dr. Mercola's probiotics for pets supplement, which he didn't like, and used Fortiflora (to entice him to eat raw), but both made him ill. Once I stopped giving him the food, he got better. Stella and Chewy's also uses menadione sodium bisulfite in some of their products which has been shown to cause health problems. Honestly, I think some companies put too many supplements in their product. Nature's Variety Instinct freeze dried raw is good, so is Feline Natural, which I hear is going to come out with a chicken-only product.

Comments about Stella & Chewy's Grain-Free Freeze Dried Cat Food:

You MUST add water to the food, like the directions say. No matter how much water they drink, it is impossible to ingest enough for them to not suffer the dehydrating effects of consuming the food without water added to the food before serving. Animals have analgland impaction problems (at the LEAST) and kidney and liver failure at the worst because they are built to receive the majority of their water IN their food. Like in the wild from eating meaty animals. If they are drinking a ton of water, it's because they're dehydrated and/or already have a health problem. Dry food is the worst - cats must eat wet food. High-quality Wet canned would be better than freeze-dried food and dehydrated with no water to rehydrate it. Analgland impaction is very painful and you might not even know it - until your dog or cat develop skin problems from licking themselves raw because they have analglands that are inflamed and bursting. Kidney and liver failure shorten their lives and lover their quality of life significantly. Help your animal live long and healthy lives and follow the directions. I blend the dehydrated food in a magic bullet, then add the water once it's in the bowl. Let it rehydrate for 1-2 minutes. It's easy and they're bodies are better every day because I learned my lesson about this. Thanks for reading.

My cat had chronic diahrrea due to a inflamed bowel that wasn't responding to antibiotics, probiatics, novel diet, etc. My vet recommended trying this and, hallelujah, the diahrrea is finally gone, gone, gone. It's expensive (the only reason I didn't give it five stars), but easy to prepare and my cat loves the taste. But most importantly, it solved the diahrrea issue when nothing else would.

Comments about Stella & Chewy's Grain-Free Freeze Dried Cat Food:

My cat has had digestive issues since birth and had a terrible run-in with diarrhea & vomiting which had him near death. He was skin and bones. I was spending a ton of money on the vet (tummy ultrasound, etc) and feeding him food I bought from the vet for allergic cats.

I decided to try a new vet and she suggested I try the duck duck goose formula. Within 3 days my cat's diarrhea was GONE!!!!! Completely gone! My cat gained back all his weight over time and at my last vet visit his intestines felt "completely normal". The vet said that if she didn't know his history she would think he's just a normal healthy cat.

If I ever run out of this, and have to supplement w/ another flavor, the tummy issues begin within a couple days. I definitely recommend this food if you have a kitty with tummy issues. I feed this exclusively to two of my three cats. it costs a fortune (especially since one of them is 16 lb), but my cats health has never been better.
