Wellness Grain-Free CORE Canned Cat & Kitten Food is a 50% protein diet with the most meat possible in a canned cat food while still controlling fat and mineral levels! The essence of the raw feeding philosophy is nutrient-rich, high-quality meat – and lots of it. That’s the same philosophy behind Wellness CORE. But that’s not all. This unique, grain-free formula also supports and nurtures your cat’s inside… their essence… their Core.

An excellent source of high quality protein and essential fatty acids, made with meats that are free of added growth hormones and steroids. These recipes also include delicious dried ground potatoes as an excellent source of vitamins, minerals and beta-carotene. Fresh, whole cranberries are added to help maintain proper urinary tract health.

  • Higher Protein from Premium Meat!
  • Carefully regulated and guaranteed mineral levels to support overall metabolic function
  • Greens & Botanicals for preventative health benefits
  • Fish and Flax Omega blend for healthy skin and coat
  • Contains No: Meat By-Products, Wheat, Corn, Soy, Artificial Colors, Flavors or Preservatives

Since feline health requires a delicately balanced nutritional equation, adding the most meat possible in a dry cat food can have an effect on fat, mineral and calorie levels. So to create a protein-focused diet close attention has been paid to the quality, quantity and individual properties of each inclusion. From source to bowl, no exceptions!

Comments about Wellness Grain-Free CORE Canned Cat Food:

I have three cats, one of whom licks himself neurotically. I changed from the grocery store food brands to Blue Buffalo and EVO for his sake, now I have changed to a grain-free diet. There was no problem with the change over, they all love the new food. I am still waiting to see if the crazy licking subsides.

Not one of my four cats will eat either flavor of Core nor will they eat the dry. Not even my cat that eats anything will touch it. They will go hungry all day. Sad because I want them to eat better quality food.

Comments about Wellness Grain-Free CORE Canned Cat Food:

Wellness CORE, both dry & wet, have been the best cat foods my babies have tried since I put them on a grain-free diet over a year ago. My boy kitty died last February and all he would eat was the kibble, but my girl kitty loves both the wet & dry. I got two kittens this summer who are 8 mths old now and CORE is all I have given them. They love it! I must say that I can't get over how soft & shiny the CORE has made all of their coats. Best of all, I feel really good knowing I'm giving my babies the healthiest food I could find, in my opinion. Even if they decided they didn't like the CORE, I would try to only give them natural, grain-free food. It's the only way to go.

Comments about Wellness Grain-Free CORE Canned Cat Food:

I have 2 four-year old house cats who are siblings and longhair/domestic. They were rescue cats and my little girl has had trouble with her stomach since she was 2 days old. Once or twice a year, she develops severe diarrhea and has to be hospitalized due to dehydration and because the antibiotics DO NOT stop the diarrhea. Having been over-prescribed antibiotics myself, I have taken my girl to several vets to try and determine the problem. It is NOT allergies! It is IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). You can read more about this online, but it is very common in all cats and in my girl, it is more prominent because she is on daily doses of steroids for a hip problem. Our last vet visit was about 2 months ago. It was terrible for her and she had to be hospitalized again. However, she was finally diagnosed with IBS in her Colon. The Vet recommended a Low-Grain diet. After MUCH research and reading many comments from all kinds of pet owners, I decided to try Wellness CORE canned food and dry food.
I cannot stress the difference it has made - not only in my girl - but in both of my cats.
Not only did the diarrhea stop within 3 days (and has NOT come back), but both cats have less itching, less ear wax buildup, and their coats are shinier and healthier.
The biggest difference is they both FEEL GOOD! GREAT! They are more active than ever and have developed lean muscle and regular bowel habits.
I plan on adding supplements to their foods (more Omega 3, etc...), but with only this food change, it has made all the difference.
This website is not only a great wealth of information from other owners who love their pets, but a great place to buy Wellness.

Comments about Wellness Grain-Free CORE Canned Cat Food:

I highly recommend this food to any cat that doesn't have protein allergies. After exhaustive research and by my vet's recommendation I decided that a variety of the best foods available would help maintain my kitties good health. Wellness Core is a staple in our pantry. My two rescue cats switched to it at 5 years of age. Wow, what a difference! Brighter eyes, glistening coats and my boy with dry skin rarely itches anymore. They love both flavors and no longer have digestive upset (my fault for feeding them food with corn-but I've learned!) I wish they had more flavors. I'd buy them all.

Comments about Wellness Grain-Free CORE Canned Cat Food:

I wanted to move my cats, one who has Urinary Tract issues onto a healthier diet.

I tried the freeze dried raw food first but was having to throw away food as they weren't eating it all, and you can't leave it out for long.

They love this, mixed it with usual food at first, clean bowls!

The older boy likes his jelly and gravy so he gets his with a bit of the grain free pouched entrees. His coat looks glossier, and his obsessive licking has decreased slightly. Hoping over time this improves even more.

My Ragdoll cat, Buddy, was diagnosed with IBD. The Wellness Core canned cat food with turkey, chicken and potato is the only food that stayed down for him. He would vomit a few minutes after eating anything else, even duck and rabbit. I mix phytomucil and a powder probiotic in his food and he has no gas, bloating, burps or vomiting. Also he only gets 10-15 pieces of dry food a day as dry food contributes to IBD.

Comments about Wellness Grain-Free CORE Canned Cat Food:

Even among the excellent grainfree products I have been giving my cats the past 4 years, the new Wellness Core product is superior. The skin and fur of my 7 cats showed quick improvement when I began this product, particularly in our 16-yr-old senior. This is also in comparison with the Wellness grainfree products they have been already been eating the past 4 years, along with other excellent brands. Along with our 16-yr-old, we have 5 cats who are 5 years old, 1 3 years old. All of them love this new food, thrive on it, have fewer digestive difficulties. This food has now become their staple canned food, with others a few times per week to provide nutritional variety. I give my cats 2 daily canned food meals, along with a variety of quality grainfree dried foods provided daily. Grainfree foods produce excellent, lean body composition even in these cats who all live indoors. The older cat, who was obese, quickly became lean and muscular.
