Was surprised by the consistency of this product. Is like Crisco, but my dog loves the smell/taste. Purchased this to improve my dog's skin. Haven't seen a huge difference after a several weeks of use, but will continue using as it might take longer and she loves eating this.

Several years ago I started using this to treat my African Grey parrot for Giardia and mites it worked very well!! When I became a dog owner I decided to try it instead of heartworm and flea and tick treatments, which after all are a pesticide! Ten years later my dogs have never had ticks fleas or heartworm. My vet still can not believe it. We live on a large acreage and my dogs simply never have any type of parasite. Their coats are beautiful the do not have any type of foul odor. The benefits are endless and no ill effects. I add a tablespoon to their foood daily.

I started adding about a melted tablespoon of the coconut oil into about 6 ounces of wet cat food. At first my cats were resistant/reluctant, but I persisted and now that are eating it without a problem. I started this because my one cat max has terrible allergies and my other cat willow is allergic to seafood so I couldn't use a fish oil supplement. They only eat grain free high end wet food but I thought they needed something a little "extra" as well. How amazing this stuff is. Max had a bald patch from scratching. After putting this actually on the spot for two weeks, the hair has grown back. Also he is scratching alot less and is on the mend. I love all of the oil's holistic and healing properties...I am always trying to find holistic solutions to health problems and this is a great one. It is great for its antioxidant properties and it is naturally anti viral and anti fungal so it can prevent infections! Its a wonder product. Oh and I also use it as a moisturizer for myself! Please only use ORGANIC coconut oil.

I have had a great deal of difficulty getting my Irish Setter to gain weight. He would also gets bouts of gas. Useing the coconut oil has made a big difference. Once in awhile he has a little bit of gas. His appetite has increased, food utilization has improved and he is gaining weight. Over all I would highly recommend this product

I mix a tbsp in one of the daily meals to prevent winter itch. Dogs tolerate it well and I haven't had the winter thumping that has been the norm over the last three years. Coats are shiny. This product works better than salmon oil or dry coat supplements.

Makes good oil-popped popcorn and good for cooking of other human foods too. It is great that it is an extra virgin oil.

Years ago I started using coconut oil in our dogs food as a way of getting some healthy fats and oils into their systems. I got the tip about coconut oil from my subscription to Whole Dog Journal. For some reason, I got out of the habit of using it and just started up again. What a difference! Their coats are as lovely and rich in appearance as they need to be for helath and show purposes. The natural sheen comes from the inside, not from some product applied at the time of showing. For me, that is the way it should be. I have only been using this for a few weeks now, but I can already can see the difference in my dog. He has allergies - scratches alot, face swells up when he gets in weeds, etc. He is not scratching now, hasn't swelled up for a while and has more energy. I am looking foreward to not having to give him an allergy pill when we go outside next summer.
I am giving him 1 tsp. per 10 lbs and I mix it with his wet food I give him in the morning. Although, I wouldn't have to do that because he will eat it straight out of the jar!

I have been using this product as a major component in treating a chronic yeast infection in my neighbour's dog. It is highly effective (amazing properties) and easy to administer-i put it on his food and on his skin-he loves both the flavour and the scent of coconut. I was so desperate to help him; he is on the mend.

Virgin coconut oil has so many benefits for both animals and humans. It is healthy and nutritious-all of my dogs love it. Imagine that!
