What is Air Drying?
Air drying is a gentle process that slowly cooks the food at a low temperature for a limited time period. After the initial cooking is complete the food is then further dried at room temperature.

Benefits of Air Dried

  • Gentle process maintains maximum nutrients
  • Retains a soft, jerky-like texture that cats love

Air dried has all the convenience of kibble, simply pour it in the bowl and serve but what's in the bowl is infinitely better. Cats are carnivores by nature and they innately crave meat. MaxMeat offers your feline friend the meal they were meant to eat - high levels of quality meat and very little else. With 90% protein, MaxMeat provides your cat with the diet it needs to be healthy, strong and vibrant.

Because MaxMeat is nutrient dense you feed less.

  • Our 14 oz bag of MaxMeat Morsels for cats provides 14 daily servings for a 5 lb cat.
  • Available in 14 oz Chicken or Beef & Cod.

Only a review of beef--couldn't order chicken for 2+ mos.

Comments about Only Natural Pet Grain-Free MaxMeat Air Dried Cat Food:

This looks appetizing, but my cats were not excited about it. I am transitioning them off a freeze dried brand that has recently gone up in price, but this did not do the trick. Even with a slow transition, they had a couple days in the beginning of loose bowel movements, and when we were one step away from full transition (3/4 Max Meat, 1/4 our old food), they lost interest in eating. (With the old food, they would meow and get excited for breakfast and dinner--now they will only eat half of it, after picking at it for a long while.) They've disliked beef formulations before, but I never got the chance to try the chicken--it's been backordered for months! Too bad!

I bought this for my senior cat that does not eat much, and she gobbles it down. I give the dog version to my dog and she loves it as well. Amazing dry type product that without all the starches.

I'm really disappointed because I know it's much better for her than the canned and dried food but she won't touch it. I have a package of the beef and cod coming, maybe she'll like that?? I can't recommend it to anyone else if my cat won't eat it (although I got great service from the company.) :(

Comments about Only Natural Pet Grain-Free MaxMeat Air Dried Cat Food:

All three of my cats like this product. I use a hand chopper to chop up the larger pieces. I measure it out and add water and let it soak about ten minutes or over night in the fridge in a small plastic container with a lid. I then put the container in a small pan of very hot water to warm it up about 5 min. This makes a stew like mixture. I mix this in as a topper to their raw ground food for more flavor and to add moister and texture. I also will give them a few pieces as a dry treat in between meals to chew on. If you have an older cat with teeth problems you will have to chop it up and let it soak in water. This is good to add to other grain free canned or kibble cat food as a topper as well.

All three of my cats like this food. I add this to their ground raw food by chopping with a hand chopper to break down the larger pieces it would be fine to add to dry or canned food as well. I then add some water to make a stew like consistency. I add some very hot water to a small pan and set the bowel of food with a lid on it into the hot water for about ten minutes to warm up the food. I then add it to the raw ground for added texture and flavor variety. I also use it sometimes for in between meal snacks, I just give it to them as the bigger pieces and they do not have a problem chewing them up.

The chunks are large for a cat. They were not edible without soaking them in water first. After that, they (3 of them) refused to eat them. Even my "Mikey" cat that eats anything!

I feed raw and freeze-dried food and thought this would be a good addition. But the morsels are so hard they are inedible. I soaked them in water for about an hour and they had not absorbed any of the water. So I let them soak overnight and by morning they were soft enough to chew. I was expecting a product that I could serve straight from the bag, not something I would have to soak overnight in order to be edible.

I have two Sphynx cats with digestive issues. Velvet currently eats a frozen raw diet. Tiger wants nothing to do with that. So, I was hopeful that this would get her the raw-type / healthier food that I know will help her skin and allergies/auto-immune issues. But it did not. She smelled and walked away. She won't even eat it as a treat.
So, Velvet gets a couple pieces as a snack because chicken upsets her stomach in large doses.
Maybe others will have better luck with their cats and/or finicky eaters.
