FAQs
Dehydrated dog food appeals to many finicky eaters! Its unique prep preserves the fresh ingredients’ flavors. When rehyrdrated, most dogs love the more intense flavor. However, if your dog still isn’t sold, you can use bone broth instead of water for an extra delicious dish.
Dehydrated dog food is prepared with gentle heat to eliminate moisture from fresh ingredients. After this step, it becomes shelf-stable and doesn't need refrigeration. Some fresh frozen foods are cooked at low temperatures, though not dehydrated. That’s why several fresh frozen dog food brands need freezer storage or refrigerator thawing before serving.
Why is MaxBlends Grain-free Chicken Dehydrated Dog Food available in smaller quantities than kibble?
This is a result of the dehydration process. Upon rehydration, each dehydrated food bag expands to approximately 4 times its listed weight. For instance, the 2lb bag of MaxBlends Grain-free Chicken Dehydrated Dog Food yields up to 8 lbs of food, while the 7 lb bag creates up to 28 lbs.
Dehydrated dog food should be prepared before serving. Follow these three easy steps:
- Mix warm water or bone broth with the food as directed by the package
- Stir and allow about 10 minutes for the food to rehydrate
- Serve at room temperature and watch your dog’s tail wag!!
Dehydrated food takes on a powdered form through its unique preparation. The gentle, low-heat cooking process removes moisture yet preserves nutrients and flavor. This yields a powdered texture combined with meat chunks or strips.
Fetch is a natural instinct in dogs that lets them practice playing, show off physical prowess, and build stronger bonds with their pet parent. No matter your dog's skill level, fetch is a great way for them to burn off some extra energy and get some exercise.
If your dog is a purist, the Fling & Fetch is a great option, since it offers a propeller like design for easy throwing and grabbing. If your dog is more interested in a fetch-and-keep-away approach, the Rubber Ball with Rope Toy offers some great fetch and tug options.
Natural rubber is a strong, elastic, bouncy material made from latex - the sap tapped from rubber trees. Prized for its versatility and durability, natural rubber has a springy texture that bounces back from your dog's chomps, chews, tugs, and tosses. Plus, natural rubber can be easily cleaned to extend the life of the product.
Of course, no dog toy is indestructible, and if your dog has a tendency to destroy toys, often when there's a will, there's a way. If your dog manages to destroy one of our hemp and recycled cotton toys, please reach out to our Customer Care Team.

Hemp is considered one of the strongest, toughest natural fibers. Hemp naturally has very little elasticity, meaning it won't get overstretched after a tough tug-of-war session. Our natural hemp is braided with recycled organic cotton to add strength of material and fun, exciting colors.

Making one of the toughest plush dog toys available, we needed to pay attention to every detail. Every plush dog toy is doubled stitched for extra strength and durability. The outer fabric lining is made from extra tough PET and is lined with an inner fabric coating to add additional strength, helping withstand even the roughest play sessions.

Many dogs love squeakers so much that they'll do anything to get their paws on a toy with one of these fun little noisemakers inside. There are a few different reasons why dogs love squeakers, and these can vary from pup to pup. Four of the most common reasons why dogs are so drawn to these unique toys:
- They Trigger Your Dog's Instinctual Prey Drive
- They're Attention-Grabbing
- They Provide Mental Stimulation
- They Can Help Relieve Stress and Boredom
At Only Natural Pet, we believe one of the best ways to connect with your dog is through play. This is why we developed our durable toys - to keep your dog active and mentally stimulated. This is all part of our mission to support your pet's holistic well-being.
To help support our sustainability mission and B Corp certification, we felt we could make a better toy. This includes increased durability and finding sustainable materials, like post-consumer recycled plastic, recycled organic cotton, and natural hemp.
For many dogs, a game of tug-of-war is their idea of a perfect afternoon. And if you've ever gone back and forth with your pup over a rope, you've likely wondered why this specific game gets them so excited. While experts don't know for certain why tug-of-war is so popular with dogs, there are three popular theories:
- It Strengthens the Bond Between Playmates
- It Utilizes Their Prey Drive
- It Taps Into Your Dog's Natural Instincts
Hemp and recycled cotton are natural, sustainable, and durable textiles for dog toys. Hemp and recycled organic cotton use less water, release less greenhouse gas emissions, and divert waste from landfills. By using these natural textiles, we're able to provide you and your pet with a durable and sustainable dog toy for every way your dog plays.
Post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR), is plastic material recovered from plastics that consumers recycle everyday. Only Natural Pet plush toys are made from post-consumer recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) specifically. PET is strong, lightweight, food safe, and 100% recyclable. PCR plastic is collected, reprocessed into resin, and then created into a textile to be sewn into your new dog toy's outer fabric and used for stuffing.
Using post-consumer recycled plastic limits greenhouse gas emissions and prevents the need for new plastics to be made.
When it comes to the topic of eating insects, many pet owners in the US will probably cringe. That’s because we tend to associate insects as something undesirable, gross, or creepy. But the truth is that insects have been consumed by not just animals but also people around the world for centuries! Called entomophagy, it's quite common, and currently over 2 billion people globally consume insects as part of their regular diet.
One commonly farmed insect protein source are the larvae of Hermetia illucens, commonly known as black soldier fly larvae or soldier worms. According to one scientific report, the dry weight of black soldier fly larvae contains up to 50% crude protein, up to 35% lipids, and have an amino acid profile that is like that of fishmeal.
All of Only Natural Pet's cotton or hemp bed covers are machine washable on a cold, gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low or hand dry for best results. Keep in mind - due to the nature of natural fibers, colors may fade.
All Only Natural Pet cotton or hemp toys should be spot cleaned only.
Cold pressed dog food isn’t actually a kibble at all! Rather than being a baked, biscuit like texture, these nutrient-packed pieces are longer and generally meatier looking. But the difference doesn’t stop at how the food looks. It goes to the actual composition itself which makes it easier to digest.
As the name implies, ground ingredients are taken, mixed with cold water, cooked quickly at low temperatures, and pressed into the desired dog-appropriate shape. It’s a technique that preserves lots of the natural nutritional value of the ingredients. This is quite different from the classic way dry dog food is made, which includes high cooking temperatures.
Cold pressed dog food is way more palatable because it preserves much of the original flavor and scent of the ingredients used. This makes it a favorite for owners who have fussy dogs that tend to turn up their nose at a lot of other kibbles they may have tried.
Cold pressed dog food doesn’t expand when eaten and digested like extruded foods. Instead, it breaks down quickly and naturally, making it very easily digestible. Plus, cold pressed dog food retains more nutrients than other popular, which is especially true of oils, enzymes and vitamins, which can be lost at those higher temperatures in the extrusion process.
